I have three things to learn:
Simplicity, patience, compassion.
These are your greatest treasures.
Patient with both friends and enemies,
you accord with the way things are.
-Lao-Tzu
I need simplicity to keep me grounded…
I need patience to accept the things I can not change…
I need compassion for those who can not help themselves…
“There is a vastness that quiets the soul. But sometimes we are so squarely in the midst of life’s forces that we can’t see what we’re a part of”
a beautiful quote from The Book of Awakening
The seasons will change, life will go on. I choose to fully enjoy the ride!
Have a beautiful week my friends!

we could all stand to learn more of those traits.
stunning photos…and great insight…
Oh Cindy this is truly a beautiful post and so very true. The photos are awesome. xxoo B
aw sweetie, the drought must be hitting you hard… your attitude is admirable. I was watching a report this weekend on a farmer who had lost most of his corn but always plants sorghum to lessen his losses. For people who were never raised near farms or ranches the difficulty and extreme toiling is unknown to them…
This way of life is disappearing and we should honor all those who still persevere. My hat is tipped to you. <3
I pray for rain for you my friend. We had none for so long and got flooding on Saturday.
Hi Cindy! Thank you so much for your visit and lovely comment. I’m glad I followed you here because it gave me the chance to read your beautiful and inspiring post. Thank you for sharing and I’ll definitely follow you!!
Oh Cindy you have a good attitude in the face of this devastation. Being a farmer is so hard. Most have no idea.
I so hoped this year the weather would be kinder to you.

Such a beautiful post Cindy. I have enjoyed reading here this afternoon and say how much I hate to miss your posts. You are one of those people I know that if you lived next door we would be best friends (I don’t know why, just do) but hey…then you could come over and run in the grass anytime you wanted——-especially if you pushed a lawnmower in front of you : )
Today is a somber day for all of us and makes me even more thankful for the connections we make here.
sending hugs…
