Inspired by nature | Fat Cow Studio

I have been trying to find my way in the pottery design. Something unique, rustic

with lots of patina and uncomplicated.

I knew that I wanted to incorporate elements of nature.

Walking in our pastures and woods, I have picked up lots of deer sheds and unusual

pieces of wood and roots to use on my pottery pieces. I also have great friends

that find them for me too!

Also, using natural pigments from http://www.jeanneoliver.com

and matte glazes on dark brown clay.

The fun part is matching up the sheds and roots to each pitcher.

I think I have finally found my niche.  I get excited just thinking about what to create next.

Nature is amazing with so many artful elements.  I give thanks to God for allowing me to use

what he has created in the art that I have created!

I have these particular pieces in a Hico, Texas – Hill Country Dwellings gallery.  Such a beautiful venue, full of incredible artists!

It is so dang hot, dry, and windy in central Texas!  We are in severe drought with no rain in sight.

Pray we get much-needed rain soon!

Until next time, be kind to each other!

xoxo,  Cindy
