December has a way of arriving dressed in twinkle lights and expectations. The calendar fills, the to-do lists grow, and we rush towards the finish line of another year. But somewhere in the swirl of festivities, I feel December whispering something softer. This month doesn’t need to be loud to be beautiful.

Slow dow, Hold close. Look around and notice the magic in what I already have.

Out here, the days are shorter and the nights fall gently, urging me towards the comfort of home. We light a fire, pour something warm to drink and let the pace of the season shift, just a little. It’s amazing how peaceful it feels to simply be present.

I find myself cherishing the quiet rituals. Stringing up a few trinkles lights in the studio, set a tiny forest of trees on my greenhouse table. Nothing rushed, nothing fancy, just small monments turning ordinary days into something festive.

Even our horses love to be adorned with Christmas spirit. They lower their heads into my hands, letting me tuck berries and evergreens onto their forlock and manes. They stand still, regardless and amused, as if they know how beautiful they look.

The donkeys, patient and proud, wear their crowns like they were meant for a holiday postcard!

Even Sadie joins in, the unofficial director of cheer. She reminds me that joy is often found in the simplest play.

This December, I am learning it’s not about how much we can accomplish, but how much we can savor.

Maybe that’s what this time of year is really about. Treasure what is real, celebrate what you already have and be with the people who matter most.

May we end this year not exhausted, but embraced..
Happy December, friends!
May you find beauty in the slow and magic in the simple.
Until next time, be kind to one another,
much love,
xoxo
